Last winter, the book Fl�neuse: Women Walk the City in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Venice, and London by Lauren Elkin arrived in a delicate box alongside fabric swatches, and the sisters explained to me the way wandering about London and reading Elkin’s book helped them imagine the ways women’s garments change their posture and practice in life. This bag they designed for their fall 2021 collection epitomizes that idea to me; Deanna demo’ed its use over a Zoom call showing how it’s perfectly engineered to hug into your upper arm and fall down to your wrist gently and elegantly so you can pop out a cigarette or your cell phone. It has a clean Space Age shape and is so radically beautiful and useful. What more could you want from a bag.
